ART DOESN'T COME WITH A MANUAL. IT COMES WITH A MANUSCRIPT.

Children’s Theater Project (CTP) was created in 2002 in Rockford, Illinois by a group of devoted artists who recognized the need to promote youth exposure to, and involvement in the Performing Arts. The focus has been on children ages 5 to 18. Our non-profit organization, 501(c)(3), has a working Board of Directors made up of three individuals. Paid staff includes an Artistic Director, Choreographer, and Music Director for musicals. There is no paid staff for plays as our board directs and manages those shows. Of course we couldn't do this alone and are thankful to all of the wonderful volunteers that make every show special!

Children’s Theater Project maintains a year-round presence in the local community.
Our children have performed at numerous local events including:

  • Charlotte’s Web

  • Discovery Center

  • Rockford Ice Hogs

  • Rockford First Night

  • Rockford Aviators

  • OSF Kids Safety Fair

  • On The Waterfront

  • Kiwanis Brat Days

  • Midsummer Fest

  • Jeremiah Project “Party In The Park”

  • NCNW’s Bethune Fest

  • Discovery Center “Charles Schultz” Exhibit

Our goal is to continue to provide this vital service for the betterment of our children and our community.

Our Team

Our team is made up of some of the best talent in the area. We love to keep our students challenged by allowing them to work with many different directors, music directors and choreographers throughout the year. You never know who just might be behind the scenes!

In addition to the artistic staff, we have a small board of directors that run the day to day show and many parent volunteers that help make every production a hit!
